...FREEZE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM PDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 20 expected.

* WHERE...The valleys of Western Siskiyou County and Central Siskiyou County.

* WHEN...From 2 AM to 9 AM PDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above- ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

Strong east to northeast winds remain gusty through Tuesday, particularly across exposed mountain slopes and ridges. The combination of dry vegetation, low humidity values, and strong winds will yield a critical to extremely critical fire weather threat. Very low humidity values and locally gusty east to northeast winds will persist through Tuesday afternoon. ...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM PDT TUESDAY...

* HUMIDITY...Daytime humidity values in the single digits followed by overnight recoveries from 15 to 30 percent.

* WINDS...East-northeast winds sustained from 20 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph expected. Strongest winds across exposed ridges.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
