Additional snow accumulations up to 2 inches. For the Winter
Storm Warning above 1500 feet, heavy snow expected. Total snow
accumulations of 8 to 16 inches with locally higher amounts of
around 20 inches above 4000 feet elevation. Winds gusting as
high as 40 to 50 mph.
* WHERE...For the Winter Weather Advisory: elevations above
2,000 feet in Western Siskiyou County. This includes Sawyers
Bar, Scott Bar, Fort Jones, Greenview, Etna, Callahan, and
areas surrounding Somes Bar, Happy Camp, and Seiad Valley.
This also includes Highway 3, Sawyers Bar Road, and portions
of Highway 96. The Winter Storm Watch is for the same areas
down to 1500 feet.
* WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, from 10 AM Tuesday to 10 AM
PST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 10 PM PST this
evening. Travel is likely to become increasingly difficult
during this time period, and could be very difficult to
impossible Tuesday evening into Wednesday. Heavy snowfall at all
elevations and strong winds at mid to upper elevations could
cause tree and/or power line damage.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...It is best to prepare for the expected
snowfall as soon as possible, as travel could be very
difficult to nearly impossible Tuesday evening into Wednesday
morning for area passes and roads. Additionally light to
moderate snow is expected down to lower valley floors.
