NWS Eureka (Northwest California Coast)

...CRITICAL TO EXTREMELY CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED THROUGH TUESDAY... .An exceptionally dry airmass will linger across northern California through Tuesday. Strong east to northeast winds remain gusty through Tuesday, particularly across exposed mountain slopes and ridges. The combination of dry vegetation, low humidity values, and strong winds will yield a critical to extremely critical fire weather threat. Very low humidity values and locally gusty east to northeast winds will persist through Tuesday afternoon. ...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM PDT TUESDAY...

* HUMIDITY...Daytime humidity values in the single digits followed by overnight recoveries from 15 to 30 percent.

* WINDS...East-northeast winds sustained from 20 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph expected. Strongest winds across exposed ridges.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
