MEDFORD, Ore. — The Medford Police Department has arrested two people in connection with a "brutal" attack on a 31-year-old woman earlier this week.

The victim had been found by a passerby in a remote section of Salt Creek Road around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Medford Police said her eyes were swollen shut, and she had a number of head injuries that needed stitches and staples, on top of injuries elsewhere on her body.

Medford Police detectives began investigating the case, soon finding that the victim had been at an acquaintances' house in the 3500-block of Cherry Lane earlier that day.

While she was at the home, the victim was attacked by another woman, identified by MPD as 18-year-old Jordan Broussard. The attack continued for several minutes, the agency said.

Broussard and 28-year-old Michael Hambleton, who lived at the house, allegedly forced the victim into her own vehicle "against her will." Hambleton reportedly drove the vehicle while Broussard continued to attack the victim as they drove.

Hambleton and Broussard allegedly drove the victim six miles up Salt Creek Road until they reached snow on the roadway. The road branches from Highway 140 near Lakecreek, winding through the hills south of Butte Falls.

After stealing the woman's phone and car keys, MPD said the two suspects left her there and got a ride back from another accomplice.

The victim walked about four miles until she found someone and asked for help. Police were notified soon after.

Detectives received a search warrant for the suspect's home on Cherry Lane and executed it on Wednesday.

"Hambleton is a convicted felon and was believed to be in possession of firearms," MPD said. "Due to those concerns, the Medford Police SWAT team assisted with the search warrant."

Police arrested both Hambleton and Broussard during the search. MPD said that they found evidence of the crime at the home, in addition to two guns.

Both suspects were lodged in the Jackson County jail on a laundry list of charges:
