Medford Police detectives investigating shooting on Poplar Drive

MEDFORD, Ore. -- Medford Police detectives are investigating a shooting on Poplar Drive that left one man injured Tuesday night.

Around 7:00 p.m., Medford Police officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Poplar Drive for a report of a man that stated he had been shot.

Officers responded and arrived within two minutes of the service call. Officers located the victim near a vehicle in a parking lot suffering from a single gunshot wound.

The victim is currently at a local medical facility where police say he is in stable condition. No arrests have been made at this time.

Investigators believe that the victim knows who the shooter is, however he has been uncooperative in the investigation.

The Medford Police Department does not believe there is a threat to the community surrounding the incident. MPD encourages anyone with information to call Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon (ECSO) to be transferred to a law enforcement officer.
