Klamath Falls woman killed in Wasco County crash

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — A Klamath Falls woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Wasco County on Monday morning, according to Oregon State Police.

State troopers responded shortly after 8:30 a.m. to reports of a crash on Highway 197 about a mile north of Dufur, finding one driver dead and another injured.

According to OSP's preliminary investigation, 77-year-old Barbara Dillon of Klamath Falls had been heading southbound in a Ford Windstar van when she drifted into the oncoming lane. Dillon's van collided with a northbound Ford F-350 driven by 66-year-old Stephen Hart of Tygh Valley.

Dillon was pronounced dead at the scene. Hart was taken to Mid-Columbia Medical Center with undisclosed injuries.

OSP said that Highway 197 was closed for roughly 3.5 hours for the crash response and investigation. Troopers were aided at the scene by the Wasco County Sheriff's Office, ODOT, and Dufur Fire and Rescue.
