MEDFORD, Ore. -- A new fall festival is launching next month to spotlight the "Heart of the Rogue" in Medford.

Today the City of Medford's tourism marketing organization Travel Medford announced the inaugural Heart of the Rogue™ Festival October 14-15, a Friday and Saturday, at Pear Blossom Park in downtown Medford.

Travel Medford says the festival will attract people downtown during an "immersive celebration ... of all the Rogue Valley has to offer through the community of artists, musicians, makers, growers and experience providers."

It says the festival is free to attend to showcase the Rogue Valley's quality-of-life features.

"The mission of the festival is to raise awareness about how incredibly diverse and sought-after Medford and the Rogue Valley is by showcasing what our valley has to offer at the core of our city in downtown," said T.J. Holmes, Senior Vice President of Travel Medford.

The festival features a Kid Zone, food trucks, local wine, beer and spirits, with vendors and exhibitors strictly from the Rogue Valley.

Bikes N Brews and Boston Marathon qualifier The Rogue Marathon end at the Festival Saturday morning. Live music acts will perform at Pear Blossom Park. Travel Medford also arranged for downtown Medford's Common Block Brewing Company to produce an annual amber ale that will unveil at the Heart of the Rogue™ Festival each year during the festival.

Holmes said, "The passion, talent and creations of our local artists, musicians, makers, and growers will be on full display during the festival.  We are looking forward to sharing the heart of the Rogue Valley with both locals and tourists alike."

Community organizations partnering with Travel Medford to support the festival include the City of Medford, Downtown Medford Association, Medford Parks & Recreation, Rogue Valley Vintners, The Children’s Museum of Southern Oregon, Southern Oregon Sports Commission, The Rogue Marathon, Bikes n Brews, Providence Medical Group, Rogue Valley Family YMCA, Jackson County Library Services, Rogue Disposal among others.
