"Resources, including ODF, BLM, and contract crews will continue to mop up the fire and ensure the lines are held strong in an effort to keep the fire at this final size," the post said. "Additional resources will be brought in tonight if necessary. The cause remains under investigation."
SAMS VALLEY, Ore. -- A 10- to 15-acre fire is burning near the right fork of Sardine Creek Road, northwest of Sams Valley.
According to a Facebook post from ODF Southwest Oregon District, the fire -- which they called the Elkhorn Butte Fire -- is burning on both Bureau of Land Management and private land.
Authorities were first alerted to the fire during a 911 call at 11 p.m. last night, the post said, and firefighters have been battling the blaze since 1:30.
"Today, four 20-person crews and numerous engines will be on scene and dedicated to the fire," the post said. "Additional resources, including aircraft, will be ordered as needed."
The cause of the fire is under investigation, the post said, and no homes are currently being threatened.
