Meet Scotch — a very sweet senior, medium-sized Border Collie who is looking for a home to retire in. Don’t let that grey around his handsome face fool you — this guy has plenty of energy to have fun! He didn’t hesitate to give the Play Group handlers last Sunday a good run for all 3 of the big balls in the yard! Since he’s a people-lover, he’s not particularly interested in other dogs. He has done well with some of the more gentle dogs at the Shelter, so it's could be possible for him to adjust to a mellow companion that likes to play in a respectful way. As always, it’s really appropriate to bring your dog to meet a Shelter dog before you finalize an adoption.
Scotch came to the Shelter with a injuries likely from being hit be a car, but he has healed. He does have a bit a lameness in his back legs, and possibly arthritis, but it doesn’t slow him down. He will do best with some joint supplements to support him and help him have his best senior life … and don’t forget a big comfy bed to watch movies with you, too!
If this guy touches your heart, you’ll find him to be a loving companion willing to share fun with his humans. His adoption fee is $95, plus $25 for an annual dog license, if you live in Jackson County. For more information or to schedule a time to meet him, please call the Jackson County Animal Shelter at 541-774-6654 and press #7 to be connected to a staff person.
Don’t forget that the Shelter is open to the public now on weekends without requiring an appointment. Bring your mask and check in with the front desk from Noon - 3pm on Saturday or Sunday. The Shelter closes at 4pm so if you arrive by 3pm, you’ll have time to visit and get acquainted.
