Pet of the Week: Meet Atlas!

A playful, brindle boy looking for his forever home!

If you're looking for a goofy, loving brindle boy - Atlas is ready for his forever home! Atlas is a 65 pound lab/pit mix, estimated to be between 1-2 years old. Atlas is friendly with people and has been very playful with other dogs during the shelter's play groups. Since he is so young, he definitely gets the "zoomies" when he's excited, but is then more than happy to roll on his back for belly rubs. He loves affection - almost as much as he loves a good tennis ball.

Atlas can grow into a great, mature dog and companion but will likely need some training to help him blossom. One thing we can tell you for sure is that he should not got to a home with cats. Atlas was brought back to the shelter previously because he really seemed to enjoy chasing those kitty cats around. Aside from that, Atlas is as friendly and fun-loving as they come. His adoption fee is $150, plus $25 for an annual dog license if you live in Jackson County.

For more information, or to schedule a time to meet him, please call the Jackson County Animal Shelter at 541-774-6654 and press 5. You can also come in on Saturday or Sunday without an appointment. The Friends of the Animal Shelter volunteers would also be very happy to take you and Atlas out to one of the yards for a meet-n-greet. If you have another dog, you can bring them along so they can meet as well.

To view Atlas, or any other adoptable pets, please head over to the Friends of the Animal Shelter website.
