[a18]follow up-stinger sheriff's office says vanessa marroquin called 9-1-1 and said her boyfriend was hitting her with an axe... and that she shot him. marroquin told police she and her boyfriend had been in an argument the night before. she told the sheriff's office that mitchell returned to the property... grabbed her.. .and pulled her from a warehouse on the property. she told officers mitchell beat her, shoved her, and struck her with an axe. the sheriff's office says marroquin told them mitchell was dragging her to a car not far from the property... and told officers she felt she was in danger. that's when officers said marroquin told them she pulled out a gun... and shot mitchell. mitchell was confirmed dead. she then ran towards the warehouse. she also told officers about past incidents of abuse. an investigation showed mitchell had 18 past arrest cycles in the state of oregon... including violent person felonies and weapons convictions. police say marroquin has no known
