josh shelton says, "today we're at shield crest golf course with head professional jarrod warner. jarrod, we're on hole 18 and this is one you said was one here is - we've got a 467-yard par-4. the problem with it is there's a big pond in the middle of the hole. you're going to have a 200-yard plus second shot into this par-4, uphill, so get ready to make a tough four or get up and down." jarrod said the biggest mistake people make is taking a driver off the tee. he suggests any club that you can control is your best bet to be succesful. i heeded his advice and hit a 4-iron from the tee box and it worked out well. jarrod says, "maybe add a club out here. weather being so warm, the ball seems to fly pretty good." beautiful views as you take an intimidating second shot over the pond. jarrod takes an iron from the fairway and hits one right to front of the green. in almost the same spot, i decide why not go for it and it pays off. jarrod says, "if you make a five, you're not losing any to the field, is what i would say. anywhere up around the green, get it near the hole, you might make that par." and with about 10 feet left to go, jarrod drains it to capture a chellenging par on 18. with pressure mounting, jarrod tells me this is the flatest greens on the course. no matter the break, i didn't give it enough gas. i've got a 10-footer of my own for par... and send the ball to its home. in klamath falls, josh shelton, newswatch 12 sports. to
