Temperatures are going to continue to rise today topping out in the 90s for many communities in Southern Oregon and Northern California. Similar weather conditions will continue through this weekend.

caitlin harvey "welcome back to newswatch 12 midday. here's a live look at klamath falls." today: sunshine and hot temperatures will dominate the region friday afternoon. high temperatures will reach the low to mid 90s for our westside valleys and northern california communities with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s and low 90s in the klamath basin. coastal communities will remain fairly warm with temperatures in the upper 60s to mid 70s this afternoon. winds will remain gusty along the coast as well gusting in excess of 25 mph. a gale warning remains in effect until 5 am saturday as winds pick up to inexperienced boaters are strongly encouraged to seek port. tonight: partly cloudy to mostly clear skies will be seen around the region once again tonight. temperatures will remain fairly mild overnight, only bottoming out in the low to mid 50s west of the cascades with temperatures cooling into the low to mid 40s east of the cascades. winds on the coast could continue to gust to 25 mph through the overnight hours. extended: sunshine and hot temperatures will remain dominant in the region through the weekend. early next week, temperatures will soar into the low 100s west of the cascades with temperatures reaching the mid 90s east of the cascades. we do look to stay dry, hot and bright through much of next week. a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms could build into the cascades and klamath basin by thursday. we'll continue to keep you updated as the situation develops. i'll keep tracking these conditions, and keep you updated to any changes. thanks, caitlin. in today's health alert... the centers for disease control
