as we go through our evening continue to hang over southern oregon and northern california through the overnight hours. temperatures tonight will remain mild west of the cascades only bottoming out in the mid 50s to low 60s, but east of the 90s for our westside valleys and northern california communities with temperatures reaching the upper 80s in the klamath next week, temperatures will soar into the upper 90s to lower 100s west of the cascades. a gale watch has been issued for coastal waters from 2 pm thursday until 5 am friday as winds pick up to 35 knots with gusts up to 45 knots. very steep, wind-driven seas will climb up to 9-13 ft. inexperienced boaters are encouraged to seek port. wildfires raging in the amazon rain forest have hit a record number this year. there's been 72 thousand 8 hundred and forty three fires detected so far by brazil's space
