wswatch 12's ashley tsao joins us live from yreka high to give students a few reminders before the school year officially starts. [a25]yreka high first day-stinger students will need to be in their chair by 8 this morning. that's when first period will officially start at yreka high school. [a27]yreka high first day-vo yreka high students should already know their schedule for the semester. the school mailed sophomores, juniors and seniors their schedules earlier in the summer. freshmen got them yesterday, at orientation. when students get to school, they can head straight to first period. students who lost their schedule can head to the main office for another one. principals at the school want students to aim for perfect attendance. starting from day one. our goal is to make them lifelong learners. that's our vision and our vision statement. we want to make sure that they're able to be a productive citizen. but they gotta be here. that's the big thing. yreka high has a new schedule system that will alternate each week. on red weeks, students will start the day off in first period. on gold weeks, the schedule will be flipped. students will start the day off in seventh period. students can still sign up for free and reduced lunch. they can find this form in the main office. even though school is just starting, one club has been working over the summer. in thirty minutes i'll let you know how you can help one club at this school. two people are alive this morning after their small plane
