"welcome back to newswatch 12 midday. here's a live look at klamath falls." today: more sunshine will stick around to wrap up the week with very warm to hot temperatures. afternoon highs will top out around 90 in our westside valleys with highs in the low to mid 80s east of the cascades. strong offshore winds will help warm the coast up into the 70s and even 80s towards brookings. inland areas will see some gusty winds, too, in the afternoon. aed flag warning has been isisisisisised much of jackson and josephine counties from 1 pm to 8 pm today. the combination of gusty north and northwest winds and very low humidity will create critical fire weather conditions. use extreme caution. fires could spread quickly in these weather conditions. tonight: expect another round of clear skies across the region tonight and gusty winds to continue early tonight. the marine layer could bring some areas of clouds and fog to the northern curry county coast tonight and into douglas and coos county. overnight lows will remain mild, bottoming out in the upper 50s west of the cascades with temperatures in the 40s and 50s east of the cascades. extended: the weekend will heat up again with highs in the low to mid 90s west of the cascades and highs pushing 90 in the klamath basin. we should see a much quieter weekend than last weekend with plenty of strong sunshine. heading into next week, temperatures are expected to likely continue to climb, possibly well above-average. westside valleys could be looking at highs making a run for the triple digits. we will keep you posted! it does look to stay dry through the middle will increase, gusting up to i'll keep tracking these conditions, and keep you updated to any changes. thanks, caitlin. in today's health alert... the f-d-a is warning you
