opener-pkg the raiders' women's soccer team won't be eased into the fall season. they'll take on two top 25 opponents in their first three games, all while trying to discover their team identity. mia volpatti says, "i think we're just looking for a strength in our team. we've been kind of switching our culture a little bit into more of a family culture, so i'm just looking forward to just playing and seeing who works well together and just like the base of our team really." jazmin schaffer says, "i'm expecting everyone to find their confidence and postion on the field because we've only really scrimmaged by ourselves and we have a lot of individual player that are really good, but we aren't really cohesive yet on the field." the raiders will try to find success both on the scoreboard and in the locker room. it will come to one thing. aislinn waite says, "i think the key to success is the unity on our team and how close we are. we all got very comfortable with each other and we've been working a lot on establishing a family and i think that's really going to help us be succesful throughout the season." one thing this soccer family is looking forward to is the potential contributions from some of the younger 'siblings.' volpatti says, "i think we have a solid base going into season, but i think there's a couple of newcomers that are really going to bring something new to the team." and as for the seniors who are preparing for one last year on the pitch... shaffer says, "just ready to ball out and leave it all on the field for senior season." in ashland, josh shelton, newswatch 12 sports. tomorrow, they
