in the cathedral hills trail system, and easily accessible all year around. this loop in grants pass is perfect for all levels of hikers. it will sure feel like you are in oregon. you will feel deep into the woods just a couple hundred feet from the trailhead. you are going to get some switchbacks and curves. up hill and down hill, right away. those of you who love to take your furry friends out for an advenure will be happy about this hike. your puppies are more than welcome to come with you. and it the trail is cool enough that it should not be too hard on their feet. "now, walking through here, there is going to be plenty can see right now. where, the sun is just beating down on top of you. so, make sure you bring your best water bottle, and maybe some protein bars to snack on along the way." there are some really breathe taking tree formations you will see along the way. much like this one. some even make you feel like you are walking through a tunnel. now you have hit the loop portion. when you get here pick a side. i grew up in a stock car racing family, so naturally, i am going left. total distance for this hike is going to be about a1.6 miles with a 213 foot ascent. it is perfect to go at your own pace. plenty of walkers, plenty of joggers, and oh... watch out for the bikers on their way by, let them pass. and you are back on your way. the loop is going to wind you back and forth, and you will even get some amazing looks over grants pass through the trees. then you come back to this point, and head back to the trail head, which will lead you right back to your car. cameron derby, newswatch12 sports.
