your screen. this is where that starbucks would be if it gets final approval from the city. it's on the corner of walker and ashland street. near southern oregon university. new ashland starbucks-dual box newswatch 12's ashley tsao joins us live from ashland to break down the planning process for that starbucks. the building behind me used to be a bank. starbucks plans to repurpose the building once it gets final approval from the city. you can see this green and white building if you drive down ashland street. the whole process to repurpose this building started earlier this summer. that's when starbucks submitted a proposal to the city. they say they want to add an another entrance on ashland street. and build an outdoor patio area. city planners tell me there's a particular reason starbucks chose this building. the drive up is a big draw, probably, to it. ashland has a limited number of drive through permits. and a limited area of the town had a drive through window in place. so, i think that was probably a factor. as well as proximity to the university. the city already told neighbors about the proposed starbucks in june. nobody raised any issues. people in the area can talk to the city about the proposed starbucks until august 21. the city can finalize construction plans after that date passes. the city tells me they don't know when the starbucks will open. locals tell me there are already a handful of starbucks in town. in thirty minutes i'll explain how they feel about the new location. live in ashland, ashley tsao, newswatch 12. starting tonight... crews will
