today: even hotter weather is expected this afternoon with temperatures a few degrees warmer than saturday. most communities will remain sunny and dry again on sunday, although we are tracking a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in northern california and in the klamath basin this afternoon. we are not expecting as widespread showers this weekend as we saw last weekend, but the isolated chance does exist. highs today will top out in the low to mid 90s in our westside valleys as well as northern california communities with areas east of the cascades topping out in the upper 80s to low 90s. the coast will be a great tonight:showers and thundershowers that develop this afternoon and early evening will begin to taper off after the sun goes down tonight. otherwise, expect mostly clear skies around the region this evening and overnight, although a few even warm tonight dropping into the low to mid 60s in our westside valleys and northern california, with areas east of the cascades overnight hours, especially along the coast where gusts could reach 25 mph. extended: a slight chance of showers and storms will linger in the klamath basin and northern california through monday. otherwise, the entire region will see abundant sunshine and dry conditions for the duration of the workweek with temperatures staying in the 90s. as we get into the will continue to track this situation as we get further into next week. that's a look at what you can expect for the week ahead. thanks, jeff.
