Temperatures will climb this weekend with plenty of sunshine. Until then a storm system will increase clouds tonight and keep things cooler than average through the end of the workweek. Morning clouds will clear out pretty quick tomorrow.

"here's a live look at the oregon coast from the port of brookings harbor. tonight: clouds will increase across much of the area this evening into tonight, especially, west of the cascades. a few showers possible in northern curry county and in the umpqua basin tonight. temperatures will remain fairly mild with the cloudy cover, only dropping into the upper 50s cascades only falling into the upper 40s and lower 50s. tomorrow: we'll wake up to a lot of cloud cover in our westside valleys and back towards the coast. you can expect these clouds to decrease rather quick through the morning into thursday afternoon. we'll see mostly sunny skies for much of the area in the afternoon with highs climbing into the upper 80s in the rogue valley with some 90s possible in northern california. areas east of the cascades will climb into the lower to 80s. the coast will see many spots topping out in the 70s with blustery north winds. winds will pick up inland later in the day too. gale warning for the curry county coast from 11 am thursday through 5 am saturday. north winds will likely reach 25-35 knots with gusts up to 45 knots. seas will climb between 8 to 13 feet. extended: the chetco effect in brookings will peak on friday with brookings pushing 80 and 70s for highs farther up the coast. inland areas will see sunny skies on friday with highs in the 80s for most of the region. for this weekend, it will be sunny and hotter for southern oregon and northern california. highs will climb into the 90s in our westside valleys with highs in the upper 80s to near 90 in the klamath basin. these much warmer and above-average temperatures look to continue into next week. we're keeping things dry for now, but we may have to monitor thunderstorm chances for the cascades and areas east of the cascades late in the weekend an into next week. hopefully you can enjoy some of the upcoming weather. thanks.
