us. welcome back in the kitchen. i'm joined today by laura gaudioso from bright star bakery and i'm very excited about what we're about what we're making today. what's it called? cherry chocolate almond macaroonies. oh my gosh. okay, let's get started. okay, so we're going to start by heating up 3/4 of a cup of coconut milk. okay. one cup of sugar. and then i'm going to stir it. blend the coconut milk in with the sugar and you want to make sure to keep stirring it because you don't want it to turn into caramel. so yes that and then i'm going to add the salt i measured out half a teaspoon of salt here. okay, so i'm just going to pour that in and then just basically melting the salt. okay, and then once that starts to warm up, we're going to add half a teaspoon of almond extract. and how much coconut do you have? oh three cups, three cups. just like shredded very finely shredded coconut. it's shredded organic coconut. so we've got the coconut and with the mixture that we had on the stove. yep, and then we'll add adding another cup ish and then i have some chopped almonds. those are going to go in there for texture. we're going to use a cup and in winston and it's pretty fun to mix. okay. so you're just wanting to make sure all of this kind of gets combined. so i'm just going to pour some oil. this is oil we have you said olive oil is what you use, baking olive oil. okay this. is a one-ounce scoop? okay. yeah, so then you just grab it and dollop them on there and there's no baking powder or baking soda in here. so they're not going to get bigger so you can just put them right next to one another. okay, so they're going to go at 300 degrees convection is best if you have it and for about 20 minutes, okay until it is golden brown on the on the top crust. for the and then you rest a big stainless steel bowl in there and make sure that the water doesn't touch the bowl and then you put the chocolate in and then turn eventually melt and you just want it to be very liquidy. so first we've got the almond garnish. yeah, perfect almond. oh my goodness, okay. but this is the chocolates like acting like the glue and once it hardens, they'll still stay on. then you just dip the bottom. okay. oh how cute. and then we're going to drizzle on top. so then now this goes into the fridge, right? okay, how much time do they usually need to sit in there. 20 minutes? okay, perfect. okay. they look so good. our website kdrv.com and most of cutrry county is affected by a power outage.
