other smaller animals are here today at petsmart looking for their forever home. i talked to one woman today who came here to give a cat a second chance." today, christina belton is bringing home a new family member. christina says "he's very shy and very nervous and he should have another chance to be someone's loving pet." but andy and every other animal brought to this adoption event from the rescue ranch in yreka are special they've been through the most destructive wildfire in california rick says "yesterday we actually drove down to paradise brought em back and housed em overnight at our facility." rick formanek is the shelter manager at the rescue ranch in yreka ....a shelter that took in these animals when the paradise shelters got to full from yreka, all the animals were driven up to medford for the adoption event today. ricks says "we've been coming to medford for quite awhile, we have a lot of families that have adopted from us in this area we know we have great support from this community." rescue ranch was able to connect these animals with several people looking to adopt in southern the shelter for 10 months, a couple have been here longer than that so we wanted try to get joy knowing that a homeless animal has a home now....i feel good about that." mari says: "if you aren't able to adopt an animal, many are still looking for foster homes in the rogue valley. in medford, mari nelson, newswatch 12."
