river was full of jackson county sheriffs office patrolled the starting point at gold hill sport part to make sure everyone was following safety rules. over 7 thousand people said they were interested in attending the float on the event's facebook page. newswatch 12 talked with the organizers of the float about why they put it on. "this event is a memorial of dustin hill. he was a really good friend and family to a lot of people in the valley. every year he tried to do the big float like they do in portland so he would invite tons of people and like 10 of us would show up. when he passed away in february we decided were going to make the big float and were going to make it for him." tara said she put the event on facebook and everyone is invited. if the event went smoothly yesterday they would like to have the float annually. we are
