today... volunteers says: "lots of volunteers are out here today helping to make beds for children who don't have any. and among those volunteers are 40 teenages and i talked to them about why they're out here helping today." alexis says "we're going to be helping make bunk beds" she's done many different service projects but alexis says... she relates to this project on a personal level. alexis says "my family our living situations weren't always the best, and it's kind of embaressing sometimes and i feel like having your own bed and your own place to sleep in and not just like a mattress on the floor can than 140 chapters around the country will be making over three thousand bunk beds today. and today i talked with the president and marking manager of the jackson county chapter kristin says : "two to three percent of any given community has children sleeping on the floor or not in their own bed. so that may be with their parents or on a couch or a make shift bed, a pile of blanket, those types of things so if we calcuate 2 to 3 percent of our community that's over 3 thousand kids." volunteer nikki morgan says it's a great way to give back to the community. nikki says "i've been on several deliveries and all the families are incredibly nice and they've just fallen on times where they can't afford a bed or circumstances have created in which they can't afford a bed and it's nice to come out and make their home feel more like a home." alexis says "everytime we show up and we help, things tend to go by a lot faster and i feel like it really helps speed up all the good work that our community does." mari says: "and at the end of the day, just the jackson county chapter alone will have made almost 100 bunk bends for children who don't have a bed. in medford, mari nelson, newswatch 12" [a22]bunks across america-anc tag if you or someone you know could use a bunk bed for a
