been closely tracking emma says,"this year things will be a little different here at rogue retreat when but he's encouraging other organizations to open their doors and he says rogue retreat is more than happy to help them do it." last year - rogue retreat partnered with local churches to give people suffering from homelessness a place to cool off and get hydrated. executive director chad mccamos says those local partnerships are crucial to better our community. "the stronger we become together, we can start solving some of these issues." he says rogue retreat was able to spearhead the shelters because it had the staff and budget for it. but this year - it's just not possible. "i think by next year we'll be set up in a better position, but there might be churches out there, there might be organizations that say hey we'd love to do this, but we're not sure what to do, perhaps we can shelters this year.. there are places people can go. starting tomorrow - the salvation army is opening its doors to the public. the social service office on central avenue will be giving away fans and water and letting people take a break from the heat. it's open tuesday through friday from 9 a-m to 3 p-m. in medford, emma balkenbush, newswatch 12. people can also get out of the heat by going to the
