right now. look at some of the weather around the region. we'll see more heat wednesday, but temperatures will be a few degrees lower in most spots. we'll have a chance of showers and thunderstorms will develop along the cascades and siskiyous and over into the eastside and in northern california. we can't rule out the rogue valley seeing a stray thunderstorm, mainly near ashland. lightning and even dry lightning will be a big concern with any of this storms. this is something the stormwatch 12 weather team is monitoring very closely. an excessive heat warning continues for a majority of the rogue valley including the cities of medford and grants pass until 9 pm. highs wednesday will top out in the mid 90s to low 100s with overnight lows tonight only cooling into upper 60s to low 70s. exercise extreme caution during this time as temperatures this warm can lead to heat-related illnesses. a heat advisory continues for the upper rogue valley, illinois valley, and western and central siskiyou county valleys including the cities of cave junction, shady cove, and yreka until 9 pm. exercise extreme caution the thunderstorm activity on thursday will be out of our areas east of the cascades. friday and through the weekend looks dry and sunny coming up on saturday -- it's grants pass airport day. there will be free and trending not as hot even coming up on saturday -- it's grants pass airport day.
