klamath falls." today: mild and muggy conditions this morning will lead to building hot the lower 90s for many spots in the klamath basin. a few high temperature records may be broken west of the cascades. along the southern oregon coast, we will see more mild temperatures, topping out into the lower 70s. winds will remain light across the region. an excessive heat warning has been issued for a majority of the rogue valley including the cities of medford and grants pass low 100s with overnight lows tonight only cooling into upper 60s to low 70s. exercise extreme caution during this time as temperatures this warm can lead to heat-related illnesses. a heat advisory has been issued for the upper rogue valley, illinois valley, and western siskiyou county valleys including the wednesday will top out in the mid 90s to low 100s with overnight lows tonight cooling into the mid 60s. exercise extreme caution during this time as for coastal waters until 5 pm tuesday. winds up to 25 knots are expected. recreational boaters are strongly encouraged to seek port. tonight: a few clouds will begin to move in ahead of our next storm system. 70s on the westside, leading to very poor overnight recovery rates and hot conditions tomorrow. extended: by wednesday afternoon, we'll have a chance of showers and thunderstorms will develop along the cascades and siskiyous and over into the eastside and in northern california. we can't rule out the rogue valley seeing a stray thunderstorm. at this point the shower threat looks marginal, but the instability may lead to moderate to heavy lightning in the afternoon. this is something the stormwatch 12 weather team is monitoring very closely.
