meteorologist jeff donovan" today: we've been closely tracking a storm system for the holiday weekend that will bring widespread rain to our region later this afternoon, mainly after 4 pm. some of the rain will be moderate to heavy too. however, this morning and early this afternoon will be quiet with a mix of sunshine for most locations with 50s along the coast and up in the mountains. a small craft advisory remains in effect up to 10-12 feet. recreational boaters should remain in port, or take shelter until waves subside. hours becoming more widespread overnight. rain totals will be highest inland, especially, along the cascades, eastside and for portions of northern caifornia. most places will see rainfall between 1/4" to as much as 1" with locally higher amounts. along the coast, rainfall will be much less, mainly less than 1/10". temperatures tonight will remain fairly mild with temperatures in the upper 30s to low 40s. extended: sunday will likely start off dry for most places, but it won't be a dry day. expect for more showers and storms on memorial day, mainly the afternoon and evening hours. temperatures will be warmer though. tuesday is looking dry for most areas with more showers and thunderstorms highs back into the 80s for the rogue valley for the second-half of the week. that's a look at what you can expect for the week ahead. thanks, caitlin. in a severe weather alert...a state of emergency is now
