ea monday night and into tuesday. temperatures tomorrow will be a touch warmer than we have observed this weekend. high temperatures will top out in the mid to upper 60s for areas west of the cascades with temperatures in the mid 50s to low 60s in the klamath basin and northern california. extended: a storm system coming from the north is expected to bring widespread rain showers and mountain snow showers beginning on monday night and lasting through tuesday. this coming storm system has a higher probability of producing showers in the rogue valley than the storm this weekend. isolated thundershowers will be possible around the region with this coming storm. a winter weather advisory has been issued for the cascade mountains, siskiyou mountains, western siskiyou county, eastern siskiyou county, and the klamath basin for areas over 5,500' from 12 am tuesday - 7 am tuesday. areas above 5,500' in the mentioned areas could receive 1-3" of snow on tuesday morning. 5,500' is very high in elevation, and therefore most area roads and communities are not in the advisory area. however, in heavier precipitation bands during the predawn hours of tuesday morning, higher mountain passes could be subject to wet snow showers or a rain snow mixture. use caution when travelling through higher mountain passes on tuesday morning this weekend the jackson county sheriff's office opened its doors
