didn't start in southern oregon but the name and legacy will be in this area forever. sherm and his wife wanda built their business from a foundation in eugene. as the family and business grew, so did the family's commitment to giving back to the people and communities their businesses served. programs in douglas, jackson, josephine and klamath counties all benefited.. conservatively, 30 organizations in jackson county alone have been directly impacted by the olsrud family. 4h and ffa were supported every year by the business. in jackson county, the olsrud arena at the expo is a tribute to their generosity. kids unlimited in medford expanded it's facilities after a generous donation. it allowed thousands of children increased access to the kids unlimited programs. ----sot---- you know, sherm, one of the most incredible people i've ever met. and you know his passing it comes with a lot of sorrow i you know, sherm, was one of the most instrumental people to the life of kids unlimited and and his family have been just considered family for for us and our kids, the ymca tonight said that people all over our region were touched by sherm's smile and laughter. access food bank received dozens of full semi truck loads full of donated food. hundreds of families were fed as a direct result of the family's generosity. and the new bear creek park playground is the most recent major project connected to the family in jackson county. the project updated a play area that had been enjoyed by generations and now with the olsrud family support, it will safely and more inclusively allow children to enjoy it in the future . this is not a complete list of the agencies, groups, families or causes that sherm olsrud and his family have helped in the communities served by their stores. more than a decade ago, this is how sherm described why he does so much.
