advocacy center in medford this morning. we go live to him now. cameron, sexual child abuse is may seem like a distant problem for some, but the truth is, it happens right here in the rogue valley. what can you tell us about well according to the children's advocacy center, 1 in 10 children are sexually abused before they are 18. of those, 90 percent know their abuser. they are telling me that recognizing the signs is crucial. think about this. according to those numbers, if you drop your child off in a classroom of 30 kids, it is likely that 2 or 3 of them are being sexually abused. the childrens advocacy center of jackson county is offering free training. it is tonight at 5:30 to 8. just 2 and a half hours of your time. they are training you to recognize signs, and helping you create a personal prevention plan for you and your kids. "it's a helpful class that everyone should take. even if you have taken all the other classes, and you have read all the books. i feel like you can always learn more. there is always an opportunity to learn from every situation." at the training you are recieving one of these booklets, chalked full of information you need to help protect your kids. they perfer to have you register for the class. we have that link in an article on kdrv.com now. they do allow walk-ins however. i have more information and details coming up. including the diverse training staff. reporting live in medford, cameron derby, newswatch12. the search is on for a person accused of shooting an
