"welcome back to newswatch 12 midday. here's a live is expected to bring widespread rain and mountain snow to the region today. the rain and snow will spread east across the region through the morning hours with a very wet afternoon expected. temperatures will be only in the 40s and lower to middle 50s across our region. rainfall amounts will be highest along the cascades accumulating snow will be mainly above 5,000'. tonight: the widespread rain and snowfall the region is experiencing today will taper off as we enter the evening hours. showers will continue to linger overnight tonight and even into tuesday morning, but the bulk of the precipiitation will have moved out of the area by the time we reach the overnight hours. experiencing lows in the mid 30s to low 40s overnight tonight. the klamath basin will continue to see cold overnight temperatures with lows in the upper 20s to low upper 40s. extended: monday system moves out of the area. after that system departs, it looks like we'll see a stretch of dry and much warmer weather through the rest of the next valleys and lower 70s on the eastside. as we head towards the weekend, we'll be tracking the possibility of showers and thunderstorms on friday and conditions, and keep you updated to any changes. thanks, caitlin. in today's health alert...
