ready to wrap up andryanna says: "today was supposed to be the mount ashland ski area's last day open this season but because the snow was so good and so was the turn out they've decided to throw in an extra two days next week." 89 total days of hitting the slopes on mount ashland. luke hildebrand came to five of them like many others on the mountain today-- he thought today was the final day of the season. luke says: "we were just like we have to get one more day in because we aren't going to be able to snowboard for a couple months." the ski area wasn't quite ready to throw in the towel this season to show appreciation to the community, the ski area will be open for two more days this season. hiram says: "the biggest thing is the remarking 'best day ever, best day ever' and it just kept coming so i know we're stoked for our skiers and snowboarders and riders. they've had a really good year and we've had a really good year. we have an incredible group of people working at the mountain this year too." towle tells me last season wasn't as long it lasted about 48 days ---that's a little more than half of the typical season. and the mountain got about 166 inches of snow the count this year is just over 240 inches with more than 97 thousand skier visits. towle hopes to bring that number to 100 thousand next week. and hildebrand wants to help get it there. luke says: "honestly, i'm incredibly stoked on it like i log monday through friday. this summer is going to be rough so it's just one more week of snowboarding, it's going to be a huge stress reliever for sure." andryanna says: "mt. a will be open for its final weekend this season next week april 19th and 20th. lift tickets will be twenty dollars. in ashland, andryanna sheppard, newswatch 12." today is the opening day for southern
