across the rest of our region. extended: we're tracking a more potent system set to arrive throughout the day friday. expect rain and mountain snow to spread into the region for the end of the week with snow levels starting out up around 6,500' before dropping friday night down to 3,500'. higher passes could see some minor accumulations of 2-4" with less than 1" of snow at the siskiyou summit overnight friday. spotty showers will linger on saturday with cooler temperatures left behind. sunday is looking brighter and warmer before another system will bring more rain and snow to start next week. next week is looking unsettled with more rain and snow tuesday into wednesday with likely some lower snow from 2 pm thursday until 5 am friday for the elevated risk of sneaker waves, especially for west and northwest facing beaches. sudden and unusually high beach run-ups are possible resulting in an increased risk of drowning or injury to those in or near the water. use extreme caution on beaches and don't turn your back to the ocean. medford police says several scams are going around.
