first day of spring is today, and w now. cameron, allergies are hitting some people hard already. you mentioned some easy fixes for people at home. what have you been learning? well i can relate to the people who have bad seasonal allergies. i grew up around the park right behind me, and was often allergic to the grass being cut. that did not stop me from being outside all summer long. it should not stop you from being outside all summer long. there are a couple of easy things to do to ease those allergy symptoms from inside the house. according to dr. judy hardage from providence urgent care here in medford, putting a humidifier in your room. it settles the pollen down so that when you are home, you are not getting it like outside . she told me that helps with your symptoms all day. she told me getting rid of the pollen that you breathe in while you sleep goes a long way with your daily sypmtoms. there is another really easy fix to that as well. "when you come in, if you take a shower. a lot of people will be out all day, they will be fine, then they go to bed at night, and they end up having to wallow in that pollen all night long." so make sure if you are outside all day, get in the shower quickly when you get home. get the pollen off of you and don't bring it in your room. wash your bed sheets often. in the next 15 minutes i am clearing up what over using allergy medicine can do to your body. so stick with newswatch12 this morning. reporting live in medford, cameron derby, newswatch12.
