"watching out for you, tbrian morton. this gas joins us now live from ashland. leah avista says the power outage could last 2 to 3 days. 2-3 days is a long time for businesses to be without gas. gas provides hot water and runs certain equipment like driers. some restaurants closed for today because of the outage. others have a limited menu to stay open. the ashland springs hotel is one of the businesses impacted. they are warning guests when they check in about the outage. informing them that hot water for showers won't be available. plus the rooms will not be heated. the hotel is providing loads of blankets and space heaters. scott brandstetter is the assistant general manager. he says the hotel has enough clean linens stocked for new guests. the hotel is also if they would like to switch. this outage could have a big impact on revenue. scott says potentially yes, not only in our food and beverage but also in our rooms division. this could potentially be the difference between profitable quarter and a quarter where we are looking up. this outage is not impacting all of ashland. some restaurants and businesses like in the downtown plaza is getting gas. i also talked to businesses that didn't have gas this morning, but it came back on in the afternoon. avista says they don't know the cause of the outage yet. they are bringing in crews to work on this from as far away as spokane. we will continue to update you on this as we get more information the next few days. live in ashland leah thompson newswatch 12. parts of southern oregon university's
