[a6]news open-open sott to show you thisp to give you an idea where this fire was. it is about 3 miles south west of ruch. the initial calls started around 2-30 this afternoon.. and the whole newswatch 12 team has been monitoring it since. crews were able to get the flames knocked down pretty quickly. newswatch 12's leah thompson is live at the scene of where that fire was. leah -- what can you tell us about i spoke to the operations manager firefighter from applegate fire district. he told me this fire is still under ingestion. he doesn't know how big the fire got but he's estimating 2-10 acres. now when this fire first started it was threatening homes and structures. meaning the fencing, and barns. again -- they are still investigation the damages to structures. now march -- and not quite fire season -- know that fires can still spread. keep an burning to make sure that it is a burn day. there were department of forestry. plus jacksonville and rural metro fire moved up their engines in case another fire happened in this area. live near ruch, leah thompson newswatch 12. the jackson county sheriff's office believes there may be more
