Parts of our area are seeing snow and difficult travel conditions this evening. Snow will wrap up overnight with slick spots lingering into the morning hours. Any wet or slushy roads will freeze tonight.

"here's a live look at the oregon remains in effect for the southern oregon cascades and siskiyou mountains, where 6-12" is expected, for elevations above 1,500' in jackson, josephine and curry counties where 1-2" is expected above 1,500' and 3-6" is expected above 2,000', for central and western siskiyou county above 2,000' where 2-6" is expected with over 8" possible above 4,000', and for the klamath basin where 4-8" is expected in the higher elevations. all advisories continue until 10 pm tonight. tonight: snow levels will drop this evening to likely less than 1,000'. our valley floors will likely see some snow, but little accumulation is expected, mainly less than 1/2"; however, wet and snowy roads will make for slick and icy conditions across much of the region to start your thursday. rain and snow will taper off throughout the night. lows will drop into the 20s in the rogue valley and northern frost advisory has been issued for the oregon coast from 2 am to 8 am thursday. some slick roads possible in the morning. snow will have and for parts of the east side through the day. otherwise, mostly sunny and milder along the coast with will stay below freezing for north winds too. extended: mainly quiet weather to end the week, but temperatures weekend. we'll see spotty light to moderate rain and levels will be around 2,500', possibly less early saturday. the forecast gets this stretch of heavy rain and snow for our region. forecast as we get a clearer weather.
