andryanna says: "central point elementary has been working on getting the proper documentation from parents since the start of the school year. now administrators are just making those last few reminder calls to parents who haven't gotten them in yet." according to oregon law, all children in school or day care must have up to date documentation on their vaccinations or have an exceptions. kristin kostman is the assistant principal at central point elementary. she says although exclusion day is tomorrow, this process started months ago since schools are required to send a report to the county in january. kristin says: "for the exclusion day we work starting in the fall collecting information from our families on the immunization records and through that process we have those who have not turned them in. we call them three times and we send a lettter home three times as well." according to the oregon health authority, different health departments across the state sent nearly 25,000 letters like this one home last year. nat sot "this is the piece that says excluded she is in compliance with the oregon laws." as of today, kostman says there are less than three students who don't have their up to date records in their files. she tells me those families will get their last reminder call some time today. andryanna says: "if you haven't turned in the proper documentation to your child's school, you have until tomorrow morning before you drop them off. otherwise, they can't go to school until that's all done. in central point, andryanna sheppard, newswatch 12." turning now
