at oregon tech-llpkg jake: "a hoop without a net says it all. the oregon tech men are cascade conference regular season champs ... tonight the hustlin owls pulled off a thrilling win over number three college of idaho thanks to a dazzling second half performance from seth erickson and mitch fink." so that's where we pick things up. second half with the owls down seven. fink and erickson went to work. fink... three ball to cut it to four... little bit later... tempo being pushed. erickson in stride... bingo. that makes it a one point game... and erickson about ready to seize all the momentum on the defensive end. lunches across southern oregon have been packed after that swat job... the crowd coming alive ... and fink on the other end to give his team a lead it wouldn't relinquish fink says, "at halftime i think i had one, two points maybe. my teammates just told me they trusted me and wanted me to get more aggressive so i tried to get more aggressive. seth's a great shooter and we always know that if i can get to the rim it's going to get things going for him too." so it was all oregon tech out of the gates in the second half... but college of idaho ... staring at a double digit deficit ... the yotes were unfazed. here they cut it to two with 40 seconds to play. fink a man on a mission though. his back's going to be sore tomorrow after putting his team on it. tech up by three... one last chance for the yotes... the shot doesn't even get off in time. oregon tech claims the title... 75-72 over college of idaho. erickson says, "at first it was disbelief. i stood at half court my hands above my head. i never really thought we'd be able to accomplish this and now that we're here, we just worked so hard to get to this point." fk says, "surreal. i was lost. i didn't even know where to go. it was one of the happiest moments of my life so far it was great." jake says, "first ccc regular season title since they won four straight from 2009 to 2012. next up is a quarterfinal date at home wednesday at 7 pm. in klamath falls, jake garcia, newswatch 12 sports." college of idaho out for its second
