Falling snow levels tonight and several rounds of snow into the weekend with even accumulations through most of our lower elevations into this weekend. Travel will be difficult at times through all our passes early and later in the days through Sunday morning.

"here's a ve look at the oregon coast from the port of brookings harbor. vantine's day: as the day goes on, colder air will move in and snow levels will drop significantly into the afternoon and evening down to nearly 2,000'. plan now for some very messy travel conditions this evening and tonight. a winter storm warning has been issued for western and southern siskiyou county above 3,000' where upwards of 1-2' of snow is expected and for elevatons above 1,500' surrounding the illinois valley in curry & josephine co. where 8-16" of snow is expected from 4 pm this afternoon to 10 am saturday. a winter weather advisory has been issued for curry, josephine and jackson counties above 1,500' from 7 pm this afternoon until 10 am saturday with 3-6"; for the cascades and siskyous until 4 pm saturday, including the siskiyou summit, hwy 140 at lake of the woods and crater lake, where 10-20" of snow is expected; for klamath and lake counties from 4 pm this afternoon until 10 am friday where 2-4" of snow is expected; and in siskiyou county for elevations between 1,500' to 3,000' from 4 pm this afternoon until 10 am saturday where 6-12" of snow is expected. snow totals are totals between now and through saturday. tonight: rounds of snow and rain will continue throughout tonight and into tomorrow morning. snow levels fall to nearly 1,000' by friday morning. look for overnight lows to drop into the mid 20s in the cascades and klamath basin, lower 30s in the rogue valley and northern california, and in the low 40s along the coast. extended: travel could be pretty dicey for much of the region through sunday morning with colder temperatures, low snow levels, and more rounds of snow throughout the weekend. snow showers linger into sunday before things look to quiet down by the start of next week. hopefully you can enjoy some of the upcoming weather. thanks.
