"here's a live look at the oregon coast from the port of brookings harbor. a winter weather advisory issued for elevations above 3,000' near the mt. shasta area and in eastern siskiyou county from 4 pm today until 4 pm tuesday. expect slick conditions this afternoon through tonight and new snow accumulations up to 6-12 inches for the advised area in siskiyou county. a high wind warning has been issued for the coast until 1 pm tuesday and for the shasta has been is in effect for parts of klamath, lake, and northeast siskiyou county until 4 am wednesday. winds during this advisory period could gust up to 55-60 mph. tonight: rain and snow showers will be mainly regulated to near the coast, the higher cascades and around the mt. shasta area tonight. otherwise, expect mostly cloudy skies with some blustery winds. lows tonight falll into the 30s and 20s inland with 40s along the coast. tomorrow: we are tracking a system on tuesday that will bring plenty of precipitation to the area through wednesday. lower elevations will see heavy rainfall, but higher elevations in the cascades and siskiyous will see very heavy snow and strong winds. with this tuesday system. winter storm warnings have been issued for the cascades and siskiyous, including the siskiyou summit from 4 pm tuesday through 10 am wednesday, for elevations above 2,500' in curry & josephine co. from 4 am tuesday to 10 am wednesday, for elevations above 2,500' in jackson county above 2,500' from 4 pm tuesday to 10 am wednesday and for the higher elevations of siskiyou co. above 3,000' from 4 pm tuesday to 4 pm wednesday. heavy snow and strong winds could lead to blizzard conditions. travel will be difficult to dangerous. winter weather advisory for klamath and lake counties from 4 pm tuesday to 10 am wednesday and for central siskiyou co. from 10 am tuesday to 10 am wednesday. these locations will see snow accumulations of at least a few inches and difficult travel conditions. extended: rain and snow showers could linger for your valentine's day between storm systems. the system set to impact us on friday and saturday looks like it could be associated with lower snow levels. we will continue to monitor that situation as it gets closer. hopefully you can enjoy some of the upcoming weather. thanks.
