newswatch 12's rachel tiede joins us live from central medford high school, where the medford town hall was today. she shows us how the representative responded on perhaps the most heated topic right now: the border wall. this auditorium was packed today. this meeting in medford was a little more heated the one in grants pass this morning. there were a lot of topics covered here today...but the one on almost everyone's mind is the shutdown. today representative walden says he wants furloughed workers to be able to get back to work. he did vote for a house funding bill to end the shutdown that doesn't include border security. he didn't vote for one that did include border security funding...because he said it wasn't enough. [a9]walden town hall-sotvo we've got to get control of the border and so i support the president and getting control of the border that's not necessarily a wall the whole length necessarily maybe smarter to use fencing here and technology there whatever it takes though then we can have an organized immigration system the funding bill i mentioned that he voted for...which doesn't include border wall funding....is now working its way through the senate. again..that doesn't include border wall funding. representative walden did say today that he thinks this current congress will be where we see the next big transportation bill. i'm working on a story for newswatch 12 at 6. i'll show you what other topics were discussed here today ...and what walden wants to see from his fellow congress members this year. live in medford, rachel tiede, newswatch 12. people who attended the town halls
