"the windstorm that happened this morning got some embers from the piles that didn't go out from a couple days ago and pushed a small fire up the hill toward a residence on upper tollman." rita donovan roth and her husband own that home. "our little doorbell, the automatic doorbell comes on, you know when someone comes up to the house. and it doesn't come on unless someone is at the door. but anyway, the doorbell rang and so my husband opened the door...and there he saw the fire, right there." rita says she knows that was god helping them out. as chris chambers explains firefighters were already there. "we were on sight and already ready for it and the wind was just so hard it pushed even beyond the initial capacity of that crew so we had to get some extra help." but that didn't make it any less scary for those nearby. "it was horrible. i just think of the camp fire victims and what they go through. and this could have been us. it really could have been us. it really could have been us." fortunately fire district 5, ashland fire & rescue and even odf were there in minutes. "and these homeowners say they're just grateful these firefighters were able to knock down these flames so quickly. in ashland, mike duffy, newswatch 12." firefighters say now is a great time to be thinking about
