are no reports newswatch 12's mari nelson is live at the jail. mari, you talked with sheriff nathan sickler about how to fix this problem what did he have to say?. the jail is having to deal the the overcrowding issue by letting some inmates be released early. the process of picking someone to be released early has to do with the nature of their offense. the people with the lowest offenses get to go first. the jackson county sheriff's office post a video to their facebook wall about the shortage of jail space. in the video they explain how funding for a bigger jail will fix issues that they have and improve public safety. lots of people comments to share their opinion. some had questions about additional funding that would be needed to support a bigger jail. others supported it, and others would rather have their tax dollars invested elsewhere. jackson county's sheriff office took a poll of how people would feel about paying an extra tax for public safety. coming up in our next hour...how people are reacting. today
