"we came over here, checked in at the icp, got our assignment and headed up the mountain about 16 miles in. and went up about another quarter mile down the road and there he was, walking down the road right towards us." his family and friends were there waiting to see him. cameron johnson says he and eli have been best friends since second grade. he says the past 2 days has been hard. "no one's been able to sleep really since we've heard, so now we'll actually rest easy knowing he's safe and sound and back in loving arms." he couldn't believe it when he heard his friend had gone missing. "it was devastating. couldn't believe it actually happened and what not. and just feeling so helpless to not be able to do anything. but luckily the search and rescue team was so amazing and was able to get to him." but now the cloud has lifted. "feels wonderful, it's a wonderful day. we really appreciate all the hard work from search and rescue and the mount ashland crew and the ski patrol. they did a good, you know he's a tough kid. he's very tired. he's exhausted but he's doing good. he seems lucid and really good."
