and from white city and could save you at least 5 minutes on your drive when it opens up in january. newswatch 12's mari nelson is going to give us an inside look on what the road looks like now. i'm out here on crater lake highway to give everyone a look at that new expressway that is in it's final stretch. there is still things that need to be done like creating signage and making those road lines. here's video from a ride-along i did with the oregon department of transportation to see what the road is looking like at this point. there's still some contruction going on. this is about a 120 million dollar project. 100 million dollars was allocated by oregon legislature in 2009 under the oregon jobs and transportation act. without that, there wouln't have been the funds for this project. "if you look at the totality of the project, not just this phase, its about 400 million dollars. this will be the we have any additional funds for any right of way on it." he goes on to say there are a lot of other needs in the region and in the state right now that will take priorty over completeing the rest of the phases of the expressway. that means that once this project is done, that will be it for the foreseeable future. but for right now there are some cones blocking the enterance and you can expect to see a lot of work going on in this area for the next pacific gas and electric company is being sued by camp
