[d8]s4s: the volunteers-live stinger ad lib about about how you can donateand what they still need. newswatch 12's rachel tiede got a look inside the salvation army distribution center todaywhere volunteers are starting to sort those toys. rachel says, "volunteers say it'll take about two weeks to sort through all of the donations that they received army says they're hoping the total number of toys here with more than double by the 18th." lynne says, "more princess barbies? yeah she's go through each boxtoyby toy lynne says, "oh this one and it helps to have somebody who knows barbies." this is lynne lawry's 3rd year volunteering. lynee says, "the first year i came to salvation army to volunteer i just came in to deliver some toys that i had purchased for the kids. and overheard the staff asking for volunteers and talking about the need for volunteers." the volunteers take the toys from the boxes..and place them into different categories. then they sort them into bagsready for kids to take them home next week. lynne says "i think it's serving our local communities so the toys and gifts that are purchased are for kids at jackson county when the parents have come in to apply for a fraud and your very local community." this year's sorting processbrings back memories of last year. the warehouse the salvation army was using flooded...a day before distribution day. the community responded. lynne says, "i get teared up. at the time there was no time to get teared up stuff they're handing us cash people are coming and just saying what can i do to help?" hopefully nothing like that happens this yearas distribution day draws ever closeronly 10 days away. rachel says, "don't forget you have until kdrv.com, for more information on donations and
