developments in the newswatch 12's andryanna sheppard is live outside of the district attorney's office. why was the transcript released? [a16]graves grand jury: the tazer-live vo this 150 page document has the word for word testimony of what both officers say happened that day and testimony from matthew graves' father. in about half a year, every county in the state will need to do this for all grand jury proceedings. last year, governor brown passed a law that requires all grand jury proceedings to be recorded. jackson, deschutes and multnomah counties have been doing this since march. the law goes into effect for the whole state in july. these proceedings do not have to be released. the d-a- can choose to release transcripts in the case of officer involved shootings and it its of public interest. since the community has been very involved with this case, the d-a decided to release it. jeremy says: "the basis for office releasing the transcript and seeking the court order was really transparency and i think it's important that people be able to hear what was presented to the grand jury and they've seen the video but now i actually hear the sworn testimony." the d-a release the body cam footage in october. you can find the body cam footage and all 150 pages of the transcript on our website k-d-r-v dot com. live in medford, andryanna sheppard, newswatch 12.
